6 Lifestyle Recommendations for Your Best Life
Given half the chance, the body will heal itself. We don’t need a pill for every ill. Especially when they come with many known, and unknown, side effects.
Thanks to our body's homeostatic system, our heart doesn't forget to beat, our eyes open up to see at night, somehow a woman's body 'knows' how to bear children, the list goes on. However, when some part of our life is out of balance, we will get "signals" from the body in the form of cravings or symptoms (headache, PMS, low energy, acne, etc. to name a few).
While it's very important to note these changes in the body, we should also question them for ourselves, try to get to the "root cause" of the craving or symptom, and adjust accordingly with what we feel and need in that given time moving forward.
With that being said, here are a few diet and lifestyle recommendations that will help most, on some level:
Less meat, milk, sugar, and “chemicalized” junk food
Less coffee and alcohol (unpopular opinion...but cutting alcohol out completely)
More fruits, veggies, and whole foods (real food)
The appropriate amount of protein (animal or vegan such as beans + whole grains)
Enough drinking water
Adequate rest (6-9 hours for adults)
This week, I need more water and rest. What's something you feel like your body needs today?
